Hillsboro, Ore., is growing in exciting new ways. Weinstein PR was asked to help define its brand, including with a new logo, style guide and communications plan.
To begin the work, we did a great deal of community listening, including reaching out to VIPs in the community with diverse experiences and viewpoints to learn what they thought Hillsboro stood for, what its strengths and weaknesses were, and what its future might be.
We developed a brand plan for the city, which could also be used for positioning by key community partners including the Chamber of Commerce. Among the elements of the brand plan were:
- Brand vision
- Brand mission
- Brand position
- Hillsboro brand values
- Hillsboro brand personality
Based on the brand plan, we created a new logo that is straightforward and strong, and offers a feeling of friendliness—like Hillsboro itself.
Our vision of the Hillsboro style guide was comprehensive,covering everything from logo usage to writing style to policies on social media, print materials, emergency communications, local festival promotions and more. It was a tremendously rewarding collaborative effort.
