Imperial Stock Ranch

Located in the high desert of north central Oregon, Imperial Stock Ranch has been raising sheep and cattle, and producing grains and hay for more than 142 years. Under the visionary stewardship of owners Dan and Jeanne Carver, the historic family ranch has become a model for sustainable agriculture and a pioneer in forging a new path – from selling a commodity to marketing and selling a value-add product: beautiful wool yarn.

In the summer of 2012, Jeanne received a call from the product development team at Ralph Lauren, who soon visited the ranch and placed an order for Imperial Yarn to be used in the opening-ceremony sweaters for the 2014 U.S. Winter Olympics team. The Carvers were incredibly grateful that Ralph Lauren recognized how important it is to support the American wool industry. Their future is brighter thanks to the iconic brand’s partnership and leadership.

Weinstein PR was happy to help Jeanne and Dan prepare for and handle the welcome media onslaught as a result of the Ralph Lauren collaboration, and to harness the moment to launch their new collection of apparel and other business opportunities. We nominated Jeanne for a Portland Business Journal Orchid Award, which recognized her as a 2014 Woman of Influence in Oregon.
