Weinstein PR Takes on the Columbia Gorge

Gorge/Portland-based PR Agency Now Represents Visitor Industry for Entire Oregon Side of the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area

The Dalles, Ore. (June 25, 2014) — Weinstein Public Relations (WPR), a boutique strategic communications firm with offices in The Dalles and Portland, Oregon, today announced that it has been awarded work by the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce and Mt. Hood/Columbia River Gorge Region Tourism Alliance—and is continuing to work with The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce—making it the first PR agency to represent the entire Oregon side of the Columbia Gorge.

“Hood River is one of Oregon’s best places to visit, evolving from a great small town into the perfect vacation destination with sun, stunning natural beauty, four visitor-friendly seasons, and outdoor activities galore,” said Lee Weinstein, president of Weinstein PR. “Nowhere else in Oregon can you so easily experience mountains and water in one destination. There’s so much to do, and we want people to plan at least three days here vacationing. Better yet, a week.”

Weinstein said plans are to position Hood River County as a Top 3 Oregon vacation destination, equal to the Coast and Central Oregon. By uniting forces and resources, Weinstein PR aims to showcase the entire Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area—from Troutdale to The Dalles and Stevenson to Goldendale—as an ultimate vacation destination.

“We’ve had great success showcasing The Dalles as a cycling destination, featuring its three new river boat tours, and producing three media familiarity trips. We’re very excited Cycle Oregon will be based here for its 2014 rides.

“We also look forward to working with Mt. Hood/Columbia River Gorge Region Tourism Alliance and the media as they visit Oregon’s most recognized landmark—Mt. Hood—and great travel destinations in the western Columbia Gorge, from Troutdale/Wood Village to Crown Point and Multnomah Falls,” said Weinstein, who noted the area has two of the “7 Wonders of Oregon”—Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge area—as featured in Travel Oregon’s new visitor campaign.
